Before You Come
None at all. Sound healing is one of the most accessible wellness practices available because it requires nothing from you except willingness to lie down and rest. You do not need a meditation practice, a spiritual background, or any prior experience. The sound does the work.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. You will be lying down for most of the session, so anything that allows you to relax completely is ideal. Layers are helpful as body temperature can drop during deep rest.
Mats, blankets, and pillows are provided at all group events. You are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. We also recommend bringing a water bottle, as hydration is important after a session. Some people like to bring an eye pillow or an extra blanket for comfort.
We recommend eating a light meal at least one to two hours before your session. A full stomach can make it harder to relax deeply. Avoid heavy meals, alcohol, and caffeine on the day of your session if possible.
Sound healing can be a deeply supportive practice during pregnancy, but we recommend consulting with your healthcare provider first. Please also let us know before your session so we can adjust the placement of instruments accordingly.
During the Experience
You lie comfortably on a mat with your eyes closed while Tibetan singing bowls, crystal bowls, and other resonant instruments are played around and near you. The vibrations move through the air and through your body, guiding your nervous system into a deeply relaxed state. Some people experience visual imagery, emotional releases, or deep sleep. Others simply feel very still and quiet. All responses are valid and welcome.
Many people do, and that is completely fine. Sleep during a sound bath is often a sign that your nervous system is deeply relaxed and your body is taking what it needs. Whether you are awake, asleep, or somewhere in between, the healing is still happening.
Emotional releases during sound healing are common and healthy. The vibrations can help move stuck emotional energy through the body. You are in a safe, non-judgmental space. You do not need to hold anything back. Tissues are always available.
Yes. Your comfort and wellbeing always come first. If you need to leave early for any reason, please do so quietly and gently. We ask that you avoid leaving during the most active part of the session if possible, as it can be disruptive for others.
After the Experience
Most people feel deeply relaxed, calm, and grounded. Many describe feeling lighter, clearer, or like they have had the best sleep of their life. Some people feel emotional or tired in the hours following a session, which is a normal part of the integration process. We recommend drinking plenty of water, resting if possible, and being gentle with yourself for the remainder of the day.
There is no single answer. Some people find that attending once a month is enough to maintain a sense of balance. Others come more frequently during stressful periods. Listen to your body. You will know when you need it.
No. Sound healing is a complementary wellness practice, not a replacement for medical or psychological care. Many people find it to be a powerful addition to their existing wellness routine, but it is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any condition. If you are working with a therapist or healthcare provider, we encourage you to continue that work alongside your sound healing practice.
